FIX Athletics offers soccer-specific training for teams and individual athletes. Programming and scheduling can be customized to suit. Group programs are also regularly offered during off-season periods.
Training options cover a range of comprehensive, soccer-specific strength and conditioning protocols, carried out in the FIX facility, on a field or the FIX turf, and incorporate exercises both with and without a ball.
Training sessions are typically 1 hour, divided into 3-4 training blocks, that include focus on the following:
- Active Dynamic Warm-Up: Progressively vigorous activity designed to activate and stretch specific muscle groups used in soccer, increase body awareness and enhance muscular performance and power.
- Coordination and Agility Training: Exercises teaching movement mechanics in all different directions, often involving players competing against each other and incorporating the innovative FITLIGHT TM training system focussed on improving reaction time and adding a cognitive element to the session.
- Speed and Power Training: Age-specific, and soccer-specific aerobic, speed, and plyometric exercise, designed to improve endurance, speed, reaction time, stride length and frequency, and explosiveness.
- Strength and Core Training: Age and developmentally appropriate weight training activities designed to improve muscular strength and endurance overall and targeting the abdominal and lower body muscle groups crucial to soccer athletes.
